Create a Heat Map with GeoIQ's Datasets (& Embed on Your Site!)
GeoIQ has released a fantastic web service for generating heat maps on top of Google Maps.
If you've got your own data to plot, visit the 3-step process for creating a heat map with your own data.
If you want to use one of GeoIQ's datasets (weather, utilities, even NYC bars!), this is the page for you.
Step 2) Preview Your Heat Map!
Once the data set options have loaded in, use the first drop-down to choose the data set you'd like to visualize, and use the second drop-down to choose an attribute of that data set.
In about 30 seconds to a minute, you'll see the heat map overlaid on the map below.
Use the zoom and pan controls to zoom on the region you're interested in.
Step 3) Embed Your Heat Map!
To embed in a website, copy and paste the following code:
Width and height are just suggested. If you want a different size, please specify in both SRC URL and width/height tags for iframe.
Your map should look like the map above once embedded.
